Today was a day of press releases. I worked in many different areas to get things up-to-date and ready to roll out into press. I finalized details on a couple of press releases, spoke with clients to get feedback to integrate into other press releases, and I performed research. My research today was focused on… You guessed it! Press releases. How do you make press releases effective in penetrating the clutter of every other press release available?

I found that PR Web sells the idea that online press releases require more than just text. Good press releases include links, images, and videos. I then went to check out our own press page and realized, we don’t have one. I felt like a big contributor today as I introduced the idea of a press page to our website. It looks like I have my work cut out for me in the next couple of weeks by bringing our press page into existence. The fact that we do not yet have one, demonstrates that we don’t know a lot about it. If you know about making press pages effective or have a good example of an online press page, feel free to send it our way. We’re all learning. I heard a quote about 6 or 7 years ago that said, “All knowledge doubles every 17 months.” I’m not sure who said it, but that means that all knowledge would have doubled over 4 times since I personally heard the quote. There is so much left to learn!
