Our Blog

About ten or fifteen years ago, the popular thing to do for quick internet exposure was to create a simple, one to ten page website. This website would have graphics, contact information, and maybe a couple of pictures, and would update this content rarely if ever. A website was thought of as a billboard for your company, not the interactive experience most internet users want today. Back then, the internet still was a bit of a novelty, and search engines were just starting to nail down reliable means of providing searchers with relevant content.

However, I don’t think it will come as much of a surprise to you or anyone else when I say that times have changed. With strong algorithms on engines such as Google and Yahoo, simply having a website is no longer enough. If your website is static, modern search algorithms consider your site stale and outdated, and as a result your search rankings suffer. Furthermore, few people go beyond the first couple of links Google or Yahoo offer. As a result, your stale site will not only not rank well, but nobody is going to “dig” for you like they might have fifteen years ago when search engines were still struggling with accuracy.

Today, your company needs to stay at the top of search engine rankings in order to be noticed online. Doing this requires content which is dynamic—a static site simply does not land on the front page of Google anymore. If you want your web presence to survive, you need to update your website. When you consider the fact that not having a web presence isn’t really an option for most businesses anymore, there is simply no room for debate: As a business, you need to update and maintain your website’s content regularly.

If you do not have time to manage your website, you need an ally. RevBuilders Marketing can help you get the most out of your website through carefully managed content, targeted towards the audience and keywords your company needs most. Call us today to get started.
